Mitsubishi Releasing 92in DLP TV!
It’s not quite as big as the HDTV the put into
Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, but there’s no doubt
Mitsubishi’s new 92-inch 3D Home Cinema is
gargantuan. It’s slated to offer internet streaming
capability, multi-speaker Immersive Sound Technology
(IST), Bluetooth streaming audio, four HDMI inputs,
a USB media player, a 120Hz sub-frame rate and a new
clear contrast screen. No official release
date has been announced yet, but just to be safe,
you may want to call your cabinet people and let
them know that you're going to need to enlarge your
current TV enclosure area soon.

Stop in and Demo the RedEye Mini from Think Flood
In what could signal a big change in the
programmable remote industry, Amalgamated Audio is
pleased to announce the arrival of the RedEye Mini
from Think Flood. The RedEye Mini is a new
device that allows you to turn your iPhone or iPad
into an IR emitting, programmable remote. Just
plug it into the headphone jack , open the RedEye
application and you are ready to go.
By itself, your iPhone (or iPad) does not have the
ability to send out the infrared signals used to
control most home theater equipment. RedEye mini
fills that gap. It takes the power your phone
delivers to the headphone jack and creates an
infrared signal with it. The Mini, combined
with the free software you install on your phone,
allows you to control any device in your system.
RedEye mini works with the 2nd or 3rd generation
iPod touch, iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 4, and iPad.

New Projector News from Runco and Knoll Systems
It's been a good summer for projector news here at
Amalgamated Audio, as both Runco and Knoll Systems
have debuted some exciting new products.
First, Runco has just released their new
Lightstyle LS-3 Projector, which offers the same
amazing picture quality that has made Runco so
successful, but at an entry level price point that
Runco has never previously offered. As for
Knoll Systems, they've just released their new
HDP2100 projector, which offers a full 1080p
picture for just under $2,000 and ships from the

THX: Video Calibration Improves Energy Efficiency
With every energy savings putting money back in your
pocket, it's no surprise that people are more
conscientious than ever these days when it comes to
saving energy. And while almost everyone is
familiar with the energy savings created by using
Energy Star products, many are still unaware that
their energy savings can be compounded with proper
calibration of their televisions.
A recent study conducted by THX found that
calibration of LCD and plasma TV's can improve
energy efficiency up to 50%! The study, which
compared "vivid" or "dynamic" modes (the default
settings on many TV's) to professionally calibrated
settings on fifteen different LCD and plasma TV's
found the approximate energy savings ranged from
15-50% and could produce a savings of up to $50 per
year.

television calibration as it greatly improves a
television's picture quality. Throw in
